Ok, i heard about how Donald Sterling made racist remarks. He deserves the punishment because we live in a world that should be equal despite many ethnic groups or subgroups. What happens in the world is still the opposite. Like here in Japan. Most battles at work is Brazilian vs Filipino or Filipino vs Chinese or Brazilians vs Peruvians or Chinese vs their Japanese bosses and etc. They think they are better than each other despite the fact that we are just human while we, the few people knew what we should do as equal, fair and just and human compassion!
Have you ever heard of what Josip Kir did? An ethnic Croat who was a member of the Osijek-Baranja police during the early 90's that told the Serbs to stop putting up roadblocks because they should do what good people do and not bad. Earning the distinction of a traitor to Franjo Tuđman's HDZ and assassinated by Anton Gudelj who is still at large.
Milan Levar? A Croat who joined the Croat Army(Hrvatska Vojska) but quickly became disillusioned on an order he received. He left and made public appearances against the ethnic cleansing against the Serbs from his own hometown of Gospić which he saw immoral and wrong and when the authorities ignored him, he went to the International Criminal court where he testified. Extreme elements in Croatia decided to silence Milan Levar. A bomb was planted in his backyard, killing him. An investigation was set up to indict those involved in the murders in Gospić only to short terms and that is where justice ended for him.
How about a young man from Trebinje named Srđan Aleksić? Srđan saw a Bosniak named Alen being taken away by his fellow VRS(Vojske Republika Srpske) mates and when one learned he is a Bosniak(Muslim), Srđan confronted the man with the knife, got it, threw it away and walked away. Yet, other soldiers watching the confrontation from a far, run and beaten Srđan that he could not even stand up. He fought for his life in seven days against coma from injuries and succumbed in January 27, 1993. Alen Glavović visits Srđan's grave every year from Sweden ever since to remember his fallen comrade.
Or have few people heard of Marthin Luther King Jr. or other selfless people who were sacrificed just to make sure equality is intact on our minds?
