Srpska Vojna Parada 2014

As i heard today, it was a display of nationalism, Rusija-Srbija Prijatelji zauvek, and what Srbija is truly meant.

Ruska Federacija Presednik Vladimira Putina:

"The anniversary of the liberation is the opportunity to honor all those who fought against the Nazis. Our fathers and grandfathers fought for the right thing and showed an audacity on all fronts. Their courage was without limits, their brotherhood unbreakable, and their state of mind transcended all. And here at the parade our shared profound memories unite us," said Putin.

"However, we will never divide the victory into ours and other people's, nor will we forget our allies in the anti-Hitler coalition," Putins said and urged that attempts of historic revisionism be prevented.

"The Belgrade operation became an important stage on the way to the big victory. Our peoples jointly led a long, tough and bloody fight against the Nazis. The USSR and Yugoslavia provided nationwide resistance to the aggressor," concluded Putin, ending his speech by exclaiming, "Long live the brotherly Serbia!"

He mentioned Živeli Braća Srbija. That makes me proud as well even if i am not a Srbi but that Slavic Brotherhood reminds me of indestructable political, regional and economic will to stand up against all odds.

Republika Srbija Presednik Tomislav Nikolić:

"Today, Serbia bases its economic development on free access to the Russian market and investments from Russia, and its energy stability on Russian energy, especially on South Stream, that those who come after us will one day remember us by as we remember our shared battles," the Serbian president told those gathered.

At the beginning of the parade organized to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade in World War II, Nikolić said that Serbian citizens are proud of their army.

"Not only because it has sprung from the people, because it was and still is of the people, but because it never, in its centuries-long history, led wars of conquest, because with the heroism of our ancestors, the glorious victories in both world wars, it always signed its name on the side of the righteous and of the winners," Nikolić said.

"Today's parade is a solemn and very important moment, an indicator of the readiness of the Army of Serbia and the unity of the army and people," Nikolić said, adding that the parade will display "also the military industrial products of Serbia, the Serbian smarts and recognized technologies, which are in quality equal to those coming from the most developed countries."

Addressing Putin, Nikolić said it was not only on one occasion that Serbia "felt the great Russian assistance, crowned with courage and honor," which that country offered "without thinking about the consequences for its own state and nation."

The military parade was also attended by WW2 veterans, members of the Serbian government, Russian officials, deputies in the Serbian assembly, RS President Milorad Dodik, and other officials.

Among those present were also NIS General Director Kirill Kravchenko and famed film director Emir Kusturica.

The parade was attended by retired General Branko Krga, but also by former military and political leaders and Hague indictees Momčilo Perišić, Milan Milutinović, Dragoljub Ojdanić.

Aral Sea 2014: Can we still hope for it's resurrection?

Remember during historical times how Aral Sea was the fourth largest lake in the world? When it was giving livelihoods to millions of Turkic to Russian speaking peoples for it's rich fisheries and somehow, a wildlife preservation? When the Syr Darya and Amu Darya flows continuously?

Not anymore. Since Stalin's time, the Soviet government decided to divert the two rivers for the irrigation of cotton and other agricultural products, which simply spells DOOM to those who lived around the sea. As time goes on and passes by the collapse of the Soviet Union, the sea staggered and goes down like the world doesn't knew about it since it's thousand years history. What could we do to restore the sea's former boundaries?

Only the Kazakh part of the Aral sea tries that, thanks to the modernization efforts of Kazakhstan and the need for the former port city of Aral'sk could be meters away if successfully continued to major phases. The Southern part completely dried out because of Islam Karimov's policy of finding oil in the dried up basin, which contributes to hot summers and cold winters in the region as whole.

I grew up seeing it on books. Now, i see it's continuous death. Can we stop it before it's too late?

ISIL makes a mockery of American Iraq

Hearing about the news of the eventual takeover of Mosul by the Iraqi Islamic militants, is this what America trained? The peoplw that toppled Saddam with the promise of rebuilding? The current President of Iraq, Jalal Talabani id ashamed as of the moment. How come an American trained unit would be easily overcame by these no name Islamists? Trying to get the votes of Shiites would mean the loss of Sunni, which means we are dead. So dead.

Haven't we taught that Iraq would be liberated from Saddam Hussein last 2003? It seems America wants oil. Not even a French style retaking of Mali would or will happen in Mosul and other cities in the Nineveh Governorate. Americ has nothing to do now but to watch and see the chaos unfold as it is the reason why Sunni extremists are killing Shiites and Christians even in Iraq. Remember the numerous bombings against Shiite mosques or Sunni mosques that are not supportive of the militants or the brutal kidnapping of Christians and bombing of the Our Lady of salvation church in November 2010, 2 months before the Suicide bombing in the Alexandria church in Egypt, all claimed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

How come the world doesn't know this? Have we grown ignorant and hoping for money that we tend not to care about the poor people of Iraq? Again, this is the American agenda. Nothing to mention but Syria's one is American inspired. If Kurdistan declares independence, it would be another mess, stemming from American failure in its foreign policy.
