Michel Aflaq and Saddam Hussein
There are goods and bads that Saddam's Iraq was during that time. Let me mention from positives to negatives.
- Modernization
- Emancipation of women
- Strong Central Government
- Promoting Arab Nationalism
- Anti-Anfal Campaign
- Invasion of Kuwait
What makes me feel betrayed by American foreign policy was toppling him was the wrong move for that time since it caused the Shiites, Sunnis and every minority to fight each other, leaving the Christians vulnerable to Al-Qaeda linked terrorists. The Shiites wouldn't even touch the Christians even if they are a minority religion in Iraq. After the US led invasion, the Christians, Shiites, Kurds and other minorities are the most affected. Highly notable was the Sayidat al-Nejat Syriac Catholic church were Al-Qaeda affiliated terrorists were responsible. Also numerous bombings on Shiite and Sunni Mosques that are mysterious who really started it.
And now the ISIS, funded by Barrack Hussein Obama, Recep Erdogan, Hillary Clinton and others while making Russia an enemy to all instead of focusing on the Ebola virus itself would mean disaster.
